Job Requirements

General

  • Minimum age: 20 years

  • Must be able to speak Dutch

  • Good physical and mental health in relation to childcare

  • Possess a valid First Aid certificate for children

  • Registered in the Childcare Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang)

  • Hold a diploma in Pedagogical Work level 3 or 4, or a comparable diploma (at least MBO Helpende Zorg en Welzijn)

  • Able to provide continuity and stability; availability for at least 1 year

  • Open to and respectful of different ideas and lifestyles

  • Able and willing to discuss own actions regarding interaction with children (and own children), both with parents and Kroost Nannies

  • Willing to comply with Kroost Nannies’ rules regarding simultaneous care of children (in combination with own children) and comply with legal limits

  • Handle confidential information discreetly and safeguard privacy

  • Use correct language

Pedagogical Quality

  • Experience with or knowledge of child development

  • Attention to and understanding of each child’s individuality

  • Ability to provide warmth and security to children

  • Ability to stimulate a child’s development

  • Willingness to raise children with a multicultural mindset

  • Conscious use of discipline and rewards, without physical or psychological punishment

Environmental Factors

  • Maintain a tidy, hygienic, safe, and child-friendly environment

  • Willing to cooperate with annual Risk Assessment for Safety & Health at the childcare location

  • Ensure safe transport by car and bicycle

  • No smoking during childcare hours

Attitude Toward Parents

  • Open and respectful of parents’ ideas and lifestyles

  • Positive attitude toward working and/or studying parents sharing childcare responsibilities

  • Empathy for the parents’ situation

  • Willing to collaborate with parents

  • Able to discuss any problems openly

  • Able to make and adhere to clear agreements with parents, adjust them when necessary, and address differences in opinions

Attitude Toward Kroost Nannies

  • Positive attitude toward home-based childcare

  • Willingness to collaborate with Kroost Nannies and implement pedagogical policies (e.g., work plan, observations)

  • Willingness to accept guidance or support from Kroost Nannies

  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development

  • Willingness to comply with guidelines regarding childcare and placement agreements

  • Provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) not older than 2 months, unless already registered in the Childcare Register
